Session A - General topics on bio-inspiration and biomimicry

  • Objectives/session description :

    This session will highlight the advances in bioinspiration and biomimetics researches that addresses different scientific and societal and regional challenges identified by the GDR.

  • Scope/topics/main Themes covered :

    Topics include, but not limited to: Biomimetic Transformation Processes,…, Catalysis, Energy Storage,…, Bioinspired Materials, Mobility, Habitat and Housing, Health, Smart City, Communications, Environment

  • Scientific challenge:

    Processus de transformation biomimétique, biosynthèse, processus naturel – Catalyseurs, processus catalytique, énergie et stockage – Matériaux bio inspirés.

Session B - Technical performance of biological systems for bio-inspiration

  • Objectives/session description :

    To highlight the mechanical (kinematics, dynamics, material strength) and mouvement control performance of biological systems for bioinspiration 

  • Scope/topics/main Themes covered :

    Biomechanics; Multibody mechanics; Bio-control; Bio-material strength; Optical properties: nanostructures, photonic systems, several modes of luminescence (fluorescence, phosphorescence, bioluminescence…); Surface properties… (in contrast to bulk properties)

Session C - Mouvement displacement bio-inspiration bio-robotic

  • Objectives/session description :

    Bioinspired motion and locomotion in robotics and cobotics

  • Scope/topics/main Themes covered :

    Locomotion : crawl in worm, swimming in snake (ANR Snake) and ant hexapod gait (MITI Barbarus).

    Motion in Collaborative Robots : collective load carrying in human (ANR CoBot), collective motion in school fishes .

Session G - Structures in Biomimetic Systems and Perspective Applications

  • Objectives/session description :

    The structural thematics of GDR 2088 BIOMIM will be presented in 2 sub-sessions. First, senior researchers will present the research activity of their teams in the scope of the Research Axis STRUCTURE and the potential collaborations, which they may desire in the framework of GDR BIOMIM. The duration of the presentations will be decided according to the number of the submitted abstracts. Second, junior researchers (PhD students and post-docs) will present their research topics.
